« Eliaura Danielle »

Eliaura was born on Wednesday morning, the 20th of January, after a whole night of transition, and hard labor for 15 hours. Jennie started labor around 2am Tuesday morning, so labor was just as we were told for a first time mom, loooooong. Jennie had a long, hard labor because Eliaura had her right hand placed on her right ear, making labor almost stop progression entirely. it was a little bit of a tense labor because Jennie had been having contractions for two days already, since Sunday, and was really tired. We were a little concerned that we would have to go to the hospital for a C-Section due to how long it was taking. The night started to break and the sun started to come up Wednesday morning, and we hoped and prayed that the sunlight streaming in the windows would give Jennie an extra edge to get the baby out. it worked. As soon as the sunlight streamed through into the rooms, Jennie finally was set to push. Jennie pushed for about an hour and forty-five minutes, and we finally saw Eliaura. First her head of hair, then her bright blue eyes, and then we had her wiggling, perfect little body in our arms.

Our birth experience was life changing. We had a great experience at home, and with our midwife, Michelle. They made our experience what it was because without them we wouldn’t have had a natural birth like we wanted, and would have had a c-section. Michelle was our primary midwife that had been doing our checkups and coaching us into labor. She is the coolest version of a Medical Professional we’ve ever seen. By the way, anyone wanting to have babies in the Chattanooga area, we have her number. Michelle’s team was great when the going got rough, and when we had complications at delivery, they moved right in and patched everything up right. God really moved through them to keep Jennie and Eliaura safe during the whole labor.

There are only a few times in our lives where we have seen the active Hand of God moving in our lives. This was one experience that from day one we saw God move in our lives. Rejoice with us as we welcome our daughter into the world and dedicate her to God as His.
